About us

In 1954 a small counter opened near Gwyer Hall on the North Campus of the University of Delhi. Tea, biscuits, a few snacks and an affordable place to sit - it soon became the adda where papers were planned, debates were argued and one more cutting chai was ordered.

Generations of students, professors, scholars and alumni have made the corner part of their daily route. Meetha Samosa arrived in 1975 and became the sweet ritual remembered across campus, and the menu has since grown to paranthas, chowmein, maggi, dosa and cold coffee.

Today Pandit Ji’s Canteen still runs on a familiar taste and a familiar face - open daily from morning until late evening.
